Rain is causing havoc in various districts of West Bengal causing a flood-like situation. Amidst of this, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has expressed serious concerns over the flood situation exacerbated by the sudden release of water from Tenughat Dam in Jharkhand.
In a recent tweet, Mamata Banerjee shared that she spoke with Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to discuss the evolving flood scenario. She highlighted that the abrupt and massive release of water from Tenughat has already started flooding parts of Bengal, describing it as a "man-made" disaster. She urged the Jharkhand CM to take immediate action to mitigate the situation.
The West Bengal CM also informed that she has been closely monitoring the flood situation and has communicated with all the District Magistrates (DMs) in both South and North Bengal. She instructed the DMs to remain particularly vigilant over the next three to four days and to implement all necessary precautionary measures to prevent any untoward incidents.
